The chords
How to play it
The strum pattern
Down-up sixteenths with muted scratches between the chords. Release the pressure of your fretting hand to get the dead, scratchy sound. The chords land just ahead of the beat.
Make it easier
All four chords are one power-chord shape moved along the neck. Get the muted scratch right on one chord before adding the moves.
One shape, four places, and the scratch strum behind a whole decade of rock.

Learn with a teacher
A teacher hears what you can't: the strum that's rushing, the finger muting a string, the habit that will hold you back in six months. No website or app can do that part.
I'm Daniel, aka WCHIWA: a producer, composer and guitarist, and I've taught thousands of students. Bring any song you love and I'll arrange it to your level on the spot. No grade books, no fixed curriculum, and when you're ready, we record it in my studio. In London, Maidenhead and online.
