No F yet? Play Fmaj7, an F without the barre.

How to play it

Picked

Pick the bass note of the chord with your thumb, then the top three strings one at a time, up and back down. Six notes to a bar, slow and even, letting them ring into each other.

Downstrokes

Six gentle downstrokes per bar, leaning on the first and the fourth so you feel the sway of the 6/8.

Make it easier

Play Fmaj7 for F if the barre isn't ready. At the end of each chorus, skip the quick G and stay on C.

Picked or strummed, this is a song people stop to listen to.

Learn with a teacher

A teacher hears what you can't: the strum that's rushing, the finger muting a string, the habit that will hold you back in six months. No website or app can do that part.

I'm Daniel, aka WCHIWA: a producer, composer and guitarist, and I've taught thousands of students. Bring any song you love and I'll arrange it to your level on the spot. No grade books, no fixed curriculum, and when you're ready, we record it in my studio. In London, Maidenhead and online.
